Who Are We, Who Am I?
Who are we? Through photography, I try to illuminate this essential existential question. Because of societal pressures to conform and fit in, we humans often hide our authentic selves. Costumes, make-up, and the ‘roles’ we play, are ways we disguise who we truly are. Who am I? I explore this question through a series of self-portraits that defy societal expectations. Through the lens of my camera, I reflect on my personal pursuit of this question, surfacing my own tensions between identity and gender, money and art, and conformity and authenticity.
